Managing Phonics Workshop supplies can be a challenge. If you are looking for a better way to organize your whole group supplies… if you are anything like me, saving minutes throughout the day is a struggle! Transitions from one lesson to another while gathering and distributing supplies can be time consuming if you are not organized. No worries! I have got a solution for you…. create Phonics Bins!
Supplies needed for your Phonics Workshop Bin
Begin by purchasing 5-6 bins depending on how many students you have in each group. You will also need two cups for each bin. One for erasers and another for the dry erase markers. I bought these bins and cups from the Dollar Tree and whipped up these cute color-coded labels for each group.
You can grab these FREE labels as your own when you subscribe to The K Files free Resource Library and newsletter.
Once you have the bins and cups, place just the right amount of dry erase boards, markers and erasers for the number of members in each Phonics Friends group.
Managing Distribution of the bins
I assigned a “captain” for each group to manage placing the Phonics Kit in the center of their group when we meet at the carpet and returning it when we are done. The poster is editable so you can make it your own!
I’m always trying to improve the transitions in our classroom. If you found this post helpful, you might wish to read the blog post:
